Altro Aquarius
The Asilo de Torrelavega Foundation, established 132 years ago, is a care home in Cantabria, Spain renowned for the social work it carries out. The Foundation, which consists of a complex of several buildings, cares for children, the elderly, and people with disability in the community.
Over the last few years, the Foundation has undergone several different renovations. “In 2005 we renovated the bathrooms in resident rooms, and Altro floors were installed,” says Francisco Linares Pérez, Director of the Fernando Arce School, one of the Foundation’s centres.
In 2011 Altro floors were installed in adapted toilets with accessible showers.
Recently 7,100m² of Altro Aquarius in ‘Dragonfly’ has been installed in the bathrooms of 90 new apartments, public bathrooms and dressing rooms. On the access ramp, 240m² of Altro Aquarius ‘Iguana’ was installed.
Decorations Honorato installed Altro Aquarius. Oscar Del Tio, from the technical department of Decorations Honorato, explained why they chose Altro Aquarius: “It was a combination of several things; the ease of cleaning, the warmth of the material, the beautiful designs, the slip resistance and the experience they already had with Altro.”
Altro Aquarius was developed for lasting performance in shoes or barefoot. Achieving Class B to DIN 51097 for barefoot use, plus PTV ≥50 (Slider 96), it provides optimum lifetime sustained slip resistance in wet and dry environments such as bathrooms, shower rooms, changing rooms, spas and saunas. It has been extensively tested with a variety of shoes and contaminants to ensure top performance in high-risk environments.
Francisco Linares Pérez is very satisfied with the choice: “We would recommend these floors without hesitation, as it is slip-resistant as well as easy to clean and looks good.”
